Initial Assessment Consultation
One off session - initial assessment price
Service Description
Before meaningful change can begin, it’s important to understand the full picture. The Initial Consultation is a one-off, in-depth session with your therapist, designed to explore not just surface-level symptoms, but the “why” underneath the “what” — helping you (or your child) be seen as a whole person, not just a list of challenges. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your child, or as a family, this session creates space to gently explore what’s going on, what feels stuck, and what may be needed to move forward with greater clarity and purpose. Your therapist will take time to explore: - Key concerns and current difficulties -Family dynamics and communication patterns - Developmental history and life transitions - School, work, or social pressures - Strengths, stressors, and support systems For children and young people, therapists will consider developmental stages, educational environments, and relationships — all of which play an important role in shaping emotional wellbeing. For adults, they will explore the impact of past experiences, daily stressors, and wider systems such as work, relationships, or caregiving roles. This is not a tick-box exercise — it’s a collaborative, human-centred process where your therapist is curious about your story and how the different parts of your life connect. Following the consultation, your therapist may offer: - A deeper understanding of what may be happening beneath the surface - A clear, holistic formulation of contributing factors - Thoughtful recommendations for next steps, including the most appropriate support options for your needs At Collywobbles, we believe that motivation and commitment are important parts of any therapeutic journey. Choosing to engage in an initial consultation is often the first step — creating a foundation for meaningful, compassionate, and effective support. Let’s begin with curiosity, not judgement — and take the first step towards lasting change.
