Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Individualised CBT sessions
Service Description
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a well-established, evidence-based approach that can support children, young people, adults, and families with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. It is commonly used to support challenges such as anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety, phobias, and trauma. Some therapists also offer parent-led CBT, supporting caregivers to help their children develop effective coping strategies. CBT focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Working collaboratively with a therapist, individuals can begin to recognise unhelpful patterns, understand how distress shows up in the body, and develop practical skills to challenge anxious thoughts and build healthier ways of coping. Therapists working with Collywobbles who offer CBT are either accredited with, or working towards accreditation with, the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). They engage in ongoing supervision and professional development to maintain a high standard of practice. If you would like to explore CBT, we can connect you with a therapist who offers this approach. They will arrange an initial assessment to consider whether CBT is suitable for your needs.
